In 1998, the electronic identification of animals was launched, within the scope of the project IDEA. Later, in 2005, it became mandatory for sheep and goats. Today, it is mandatory for equines and its use may likewise include cattle.
After fourteen years, it is of interest to have in-depth information about the e-identification system in Spain, both its strengths and weaknesses, in an effort to improve its use. Thus, this survey questionnaire has been drafted to obtain the opinions of all sectors involved (public administration, breeders, the sector, manufacturers, experts, citizens… …). We therefore request breeders to fill out this questionnaire for the benefit of the sector.
