ANCCE, the National PRE Breeders’ Association of Spain, founded in 1972, has become the parent PRE association at the international level, with more than 1,300 members, including the 20 territorial associations in Spain and 22 associations from a number of countries in Europe and America.
This year, the PRE Stud Book is celebrating its centennial, as it is one of the oldest equine stud books in the world. The first horse was registered in 1912 and the studbook has continued uninterruptedly until now. Since 2007, ANCCE handles the PRE Stud Book, by appointment of Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, as the only official register for the breed in the world. Cria Caballar must be recognized and thanked for the wonderful work undertaken over the years in handling the PRE Stud Book prior to ANCCE.
One of the first steps for the commemoration of both events has been the creation of specific corporate logos that are now being presented. This centennial logo will be used throughout 2012 on all PRE Stud Book communications and activities.
