All utilities currently included in the “Equine Agenda” are being incorporated into the Stud Book web-site. From the private zone, breeders will be able to use these functions to handle stud farm business from any computer with an internet connection, with no need to depend exclusively on a single computer where the equine Agenda is installed.
Some examples of utilities breeders can already use include calculating the inbreeding coefficient for the horses on their stud farm, as well as for any future offspring, fruit of a horse from their stud farm and any other horse registered with the PRE Stud Book office. This calculation is carried out using 10 generations of the pedigree. In addition, the calculation of a new parameter has been incorporated, which is the Completeness Index. This index reports information from those 10 generations of a horse from which the inbreeding has been calculated. The higher the Completeness Index, the greater the reliability of the inbreeding calculated.
From the private zone, breeders can print out the lists of horses selected or export that list to an Excel file to then work with them. Also, breeders can now send photos of their horses to the PRE Stud Book. Once verified, these photos are displayed in the public area of the web-site, in the family tree.
Soon breeders will be able to use a calendar, which will be included in the private zone, where all the data of interest of a given horse can be noted.
