A workshop titled, “Applying Genomics to the PRE Breeding Program: Its benefits for breeders. The EQUIGENOM Group.” was held for breeders and participants.
ANCCE participated with a promotional stand at EQUINA Galicia 2023 as from Friday the 28th until Sunday the 30th of July. The 9th Horse Fair, held in the town of Silleda (Pontevedra Province), coincided with the 3-star Conformation Competition for Purebred Spanish Stallions and Mares.
In addition to the general information offered, promotions and advancements regarding the breed, any breeder requesting assistance or advice about ANCCE Services, the PRE Stud Book (LG PRE ANCCE) and the PRE Breeding Program was also attended. Likewise, breeders were informed about the objectives and advantages of the EQUIGENOM Group project as well as the importance of this project, not only for Purebred Spanish Horses (PRE) but for the general equine sector. Breeders were provided with EQUIGENOM educational and promotional material.
Within the scope of this event, on Saturday, the 29th of July, at 12 noon, in the Breeder Hall of the Fair Grounds, a workshop was offered. It was titled “Applying Genomics to the PRE Breeding Program: Its benefits for breeders. The EQUIGENOM Group.” Assistant Director of the PRE Stud Book, and Technical Director of the PRE Breeding Program, Pedro J. Azor, presented the workshop.
On Friday, the 28th of July, at 2 pm, in an effort to facilitate breeder communication and exchange, ANCCE offered its members a cocktail.
