Moroccan delegation visits ANCCE

Last week, major representatives from the Moroccan equine sector undertook official visit to ANCCE. The objective of this visit was to obtain first-hand information about the Purebred Spanish Horse Breeding Program (Stud Book, Genetic Breeding Program, distribution of breeding information, etc.). They were also interested in all aspects of conformation competitions and sports organized by the Association for PRE horses. They were also informed about the equine genomics project (GO EQUIGENOM).

Once Jose Juan Morales, President of ANCCE made the initial presentation, the group visited the Stud Book office, the Molecular Genetics Laboratory and the main ANCCE headquarters. There, they met with the directors of the various departments and learned about the technical management of each.

The visiting delegation with representatives from both public administration and the private equestrian sector in Morocco included: Assistant General Director of SOREC Hicham Debbagh, Director of Haras Nationaux Malak Benamar, Head of Promotion and Genetic Improvement Mohamed Ousidhoum, Head of Haras National in El Jadida Reda Abdessadki, President of the Barb and Arab-Barb Horse Association Younes Jari, President of Tbourida, the National Association of Equestrian Art Yassine Oukacha, and Vice-President of the Barb and Arab-Barb Horse Breeders’ Association Youssef Ala

The Delegation’s goal is to learn about the ANCCE management model and the exchange of knowledge to then apply it to the equine sector in Morocco. At the same time, they seek to open new avenues for cooperation between both nations.
