26 PREs Certified as "Excellent," 9 as “Very Good” and 17 as “Good”

69 Purebred Spanish Horses participated in this Final
 
Dos Lunas Polo Dressage Center in San Martin de Tesorillo (Cadiz) hosted the Young Dressage Horse Selection Test Final on the 14th and 15th of September.  Sponsored by Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture and coordinated by ANCCE, the event was broadcast live on both the ANCCE web site and ClipMyHorse TV platform. 
 
At this grand Final, there were 69 PRE participants that competed in the 4, 5, 6 and 7-year-old levels.  Of these horses, 26 young horses were considered "Excellent" for Dressage, while nine were considered “Very Good” and another seventeen were deemed “Good.”
 
It is noteworthy that of those horses considered "Excellent", almost 80% of them are descendants of the Improver or Elite stallions listed in the Breeding Catalog. Once again, these results are proof of the ability of these breeding horses to transmit good traits to their progeny and the effectiveness of the PRE Breeding Program developed by ANCCE.
 
 
 
 
ANCCE sponsored two different lectures by Pedro J. Azor, assistant director of the PRE Stud Book. These were titled "Common doubts regarding PRE ANCCE Stud Book procedures" and "Genomic Applications of the PRE Breeding Program."  The presentation concluded with a cocktail for breeders.
 
This Final concludes the 2022 Dressage performance tests. The horses participating in these tests are genetically assessed and are eligible for the genetic category as Young Recommended Breeding Stock. Horses earning this genetic category will then appear in the PRE Breeding Catalog and in the PRE Stud Book (LG PRE ANCCE) for dissemination within the framework of the Breeding Program.
